June 2026 News & Updates
Happy summer, dear friends of Saint Basil! We hope this finds you well and cool during these hot summer days.
June was a momentous month for Saint Basil Academy. The children finished out their respective school years and continue to grow more and more into their beautiful selves each and every day.
June was filled with fun events like going to Splash Down Beach water park, adventures in nature with our Saint Basil Academy Earth Keepers club, and we even got to see the French Aerobatic Team conduct a spectacular flyover of West Point!
Our sweet playroom also hosted a special restaurant day where the grownups prepared an array of delicious meals, and the kids got to learn how to order and manage pretend money (aka Basil bucks!) to pay for dinner, a beverage, and dessert! Three days after that, we had a very fun campus movie night during which the children watched the animated movie “David” and learned the story of King David from the Bible.
June closed with Saint Basil staff and clergy travelling to Cleveland, OH for the 48th Biennial Clergy-Laity Congress where we were received with warmth and love by the many friends and supporters of our ministry. So many people stopped at our booth to learn more about what we do and share their own memories of visiting and serving at Saint Basil over the years. We were blown away by all the love that friends near and far have for this amazing place.
After Clergy-Laity, our beloved Orthodox Service Leaders, Ms. Josephine and Ms. Gav, attended the YAL conference where they connected with young adults from across the nation to help spread the word about our ministry and the Orthodox Service Leaders program. To say that it was fruitful is an understatement! It was spectacular.
We hope you all had a beautiful Independence Day celebrating 250 years of our incredible nation. We have so much to be grateful for. God bless you all!
With love and gratitude,
The Saint Basil Academy Family
Message from Ms. Lauren
“After 5 years of service at Saint Basil Academy, it is with tremendous gratitude that I am embarking on the next chapter of my own life to spend more time at home and with my family. I am honored to be passing the Community and Development torch to our incredible Orthodox Service Leaders, Ms. Gav and Ms. Josephine! My final day of work will be this Wednesday, July 8th. I cannot fully express how grateful I am to have had the privilege of working here. I have learned so much and will always consider myself part of the Saint Basil Family!”
