Fall 2023 Newsletter
Happy fall to one and all! Here on campus, the leaves are just starting to turn, and many wonderful things are happening. At the beginning of the month, our Saint Basil Academy children began their 2023-2024 academic year. We are back in the routine of school, sports, piano lessons, and more. Our kids are learning and experiencing so much, and we are very proud of them.
Deacon Ordination
We are also very proud of our beloved Deacon Kyriakos Ioannou who was ordained to the Holy Diaconate on Sunday here in our campus chapel. It was a beautiful and moving service led by His Grace Bishop Athenagoras of Nazianzos. Congratulations, Deacon Kary! Axios!
The Year of the Neighbor
Saint Basil Academy has continued the Year of the Neighbor most recently by hosting a cadre of West Point cadets who held their Sunday School Teacher’s retreat here on campus in mid-September. It was wonderful to get to know our across-the-river neighbors and to provide them a beautiful space for reflection and spiritual growth.
Saint Basil Walk-a-Thon
Last but not least, the Saint Basil Walk-a-Thon is happening this Saturday, September 30th at 11 AM! It is a rain or shine event that will begin with an Agiasmos (Blessing of the Waters) and a beautiful campus walk, followed by a cookout, games, a bounce house, and more. We hope to see all of you there for a day of fellowship, fun, and great parea!
Wishing you all the best for a wonderful fall. Kalo Ximona!
