Part-Time Tutor

Saint Basil Academy is seeking a dedicated and nurturing Part-Time Tutor to work within our residential programs, which cater to children and families. This role is a fantastic opportunity to provide educational support, guidance and a loving presence to youth ranging from 6 to 18 years old.

Saint Basil Academy is a national not-for-profit philanthropic center dedicated to providing love, shelter, food, education, protection, and “a home away from home” for children. We minister to the mind, body, and spirit.

Our Mission: To facilitate shelter, protection, love and education for our youth, so they grow up to be healthy, wholesome, well-rounded Orthodox Christians, as well as productive members of society with vision and hope. We offer a wonderful, warm, caring, and nurturing environment for both our residents and our staff.

Position Details

  • Job Title: Part-Time Tutor
  • Schedule: Part-Time/15–20 hrs a week (Hours TBD, ideally M–F 3pm–6pm, but based on typical needs for after-school tutoring and program support. Please specify your availability in your application.)
  • Pay Range: $25–$30 per hour

Key Responsibilities

As a Tutor, you will play a crucial role in the children’s development by focusing on academic support and overall well-being.

  • Academic Tutoring and Support: Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring to children across various subjects (Grades 3–12), assisting with homework, study skills, and test preparation.
  • Care, Safety, and Management: Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the program.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Human Services, Social Work, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience working with children and/or youth in a tutoring, mentoring, or supervisory role is highly desirable.
