Food Prep Worker

Part-time/25+ hrs week

Pay range $18–$22

Saint Basil Academy is the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese home for children in need. The academy provides a loving Christian environment where resident children are nurtured to adulthood.

Saint Basil Academy is looking for a Food Prep Worker to join our team. The Food Prep Worker would work with the Food Service Team and prep all the meals or all programs across the campus. The ideal person for this position has experience, enjoys working within a team, is well-spoken, energetic, and personable.

Responsibilities

• Ingredient Prep: Measure, weigh, cut, and prepare meats, poultry, seafood, vegetables, and salads according to established recipes and instructions.
• Food Assembly & Presentation: Portion and arrange prepared items, salads, and condiments on serving trays, buffets, or designated prep stations.
• Safe Storage & Quality Control: Store ingredients in proper containers, monitor food/storage temperatures, and strictly adhere to food handling and safety regulations to prevent spoilage.
• Sanitation & Station Maintenance: Clean, sanitize, and stock kitchen equipment, utensils, work surfaces, salad bars, and dining area tables.
• General Support: Assist with additional food service duties as needed to support kitchen operations.

Qualifications and Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Detail-oriented, confidential, and professional
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds at times
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and reach, bend, lift and pull.
