Thank You & Merry Christmas
This past Saturday, December 13th, was the 2025 Saint Basil Academy Christmas Pageant, featuring Saint Basil children, families, board members and friends. There we’re over 200 guests in attendance including His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America, New York State Senator Rob Rolison, representatives from the national boards of both the Ladies Philoptochos Society and the Daughters of Penelope, numerous Philoptochos chapters, AHEPA Districts, clergy, church parishes, philanthropic organizations, Pan-Gregorian, and more.
The gym was in full decoration with lanterns, gingerbread houses decorated by the children, and holly from the campus grounds. Adorning the walls was a stunning art exhibit on the theme of Hope. It featured images of the children’s faces along with their statements on who they hope to become and their hopes for the entire world.
The children presented a spectacular shadow-box play of the Nativity; the Saint Basil choir sang beautiful Christmas carols for all to join, and His Eminence offered powerful words of encouragement and support for the work of Saint Basil Academy.
After the pageant and fasting luncheon, the children opened enormous bags of gifts from our extremely generous donors presented lovingly by His Eminence. Numerous groups also made monetary donations, experiential gifts, and educational scholarships. The level of generosity was absolutely incredible, and all of us at Saint Basil are tremendously thankful!
